A Generational Call to Character (C)
For years, it has been the heart desire of
Southern Lights to see young people given the best opportunity to grow to their full potential in God. We have grieved in our hearts to see so many young people taken out by our adversary in their teens and as young adults.
With great joy we linked with Harvest Christian Fellowship in Spokane, Washington (USA), who raised up this dynamic and unique course called
The Master’s Commission (MC) in 1989. MC has been planted in other churches, in different states of the USA and other nations;
Switzerland, Slovakia,
South Africa,
Canada and now Australia. There is no longer an MC operating at Harvest Christian Fellowship, however, we received this vision as a part of God's strategy to take discipling to every state in Australia to see the next generation discipled into an army for His Glory.
Our vision is to plant MCs throughout Melbourne, other states in Australia, and the Pacific areas where we have strong networking relationships.
It is the conviction of the ministry and members of Southern Lights Apostolic Centre that there is ultimately one Master who gave His Great Commission. The Master is Jesus, the Son of God, our Lord and Saviour. He commands His disciples to "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you" (Matthew 28 : 19, 20).
For the young people who have chosen to enter The Master’s Commission, they are dedicating one year of their lives to God in full-time service and discipleship. It is our fervent prayer that they will take their place in the body of Christ to join in the work of the Great Commission. In the end, may it be said that they are "… vessel[s] of honour, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work" (II Timothy 2 : 21). This is truly the vision of The Master’s Commission.
